To help injured, abandoned, and homeless dogs in the Redlands by providing necessary medical care, food, and housing. As a true “no-kill” shelter, we work to rehabilitate dogs with behavioral issues because we believe all dogs deserve a loving home.
Every year the Redland Dog Sanctuary works diligently to reduce the number of homeless dogs by securing dumped Redland and Homestead Street Dogs, bringing them to safety, socializing and rehabilitating them, thus preparing them for a transition to a new forever home.
tWe strive to educate our community about the importance of spay and neuter. South Florida has one of the largest pet overpopulation problems in the country. Spaying and neutering all companion animals and discouraging the purchase of animals from pet stores and backyard breeders is the key to reducing the number of unwanted and homeless pets. We encourage everyone to adopt a homeless animal rather than purchasing one: Don’t Shop! Adopt!
We provide grant-funded access to free or extremely affordable spay/neuter services for low income and migrant community members. Our goal is for all members of our community, regardless of income, to be able to spay/neuter their companion animals.
My passion for dogs started at a very early age; I was always around them. My first job at the age of 14 was helping train Army dogs and from then on I never stopped working with dogs.
I graduated from a veterinary training program with a specialization in hormone manipulation and artificial insemination in equines, bovines and chickens as well as pituitary manipulation in tropical fish for reproductive purposes and cross-breeding of bees with the goal of preserving the species. From then on, I’ve never stopped helping Mother Nature succeed!
I have been blessed to work professionally with dogs for many years in multiple capacities: as a veterinary technician, as a dog trainer and as a professional groomer. Throughout these years I found myself determined to help them in any way I could. My employment in dog related industries helped me raise my family and now I find myself compelled to give back to their species by providing sanctuary to those of them most in need. This desire to help Redland Dog Sanctuary led to the development of the Redland Dog Sanctuary. I love what I do and can’t see myself doing anything other than helping dogs be cared for, especially the ones no one else is able or willing to help; the difficult dogs, the ones with behavioral issues, the ones with severe medical problems and/or injuries, the dejected and the neglected.
